Crystal Palace in second round of Carling Cup
By: j | August 13th, 2008Leeds drew a very tough challenge in the second round of the Carling Cup with Neil Warnock’s Crystal Palace. Palace missed promotion to the Premier League, losing in the playoff round but is one of the top choices to make it this season. They will need to tighten up their lines in facing Palace if they want to make it through to the next round. The match will be held in the week of August 25.

The week of the 25th? Really!
I’m going to be in Leeds for a conference that week, and I plan to go to the Leeds-Bristol Rovers game while I’m there– this Yank has never been to a live football game in Europe and I’m psyched about it. Now I’m even more fired up– should be a lively pub scene when this game is on!
I feel quite lucky for this opportunity to experience a real football culture for once.

Hi chaps, this is probably not directly related to anything but did you see this (http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/news/Claudia-Ciesla-German-Jordan-visits.4382290.jp) on the Y.E.P site? It’s some girl who’s apparently the German equivalent of old Jordan. I’ve not heard of her myself but she seems to be big in Germany and according to this news article is a closet united fan – she’s launching a single in the UK this week, which is supposedly why she’s over here, as well. Interesting to see that people overseas are taking an interest in the old club and if they’re all so appealing I hope to see more pin-up ambassadors coming our way!
