Jack Hobbs to Leicester City

By: j | July 25th, 2008

First off, I know, this is not a Leicester City blog but I feel something needed to be said as this has received very little note, too little notice and I’m annoyed. I suppose everyone in the footy world is too concerned over the debutantes and deals of epic proportions and has forgotten about the game at the core. I suppose I’m just a bit too old and curmudgeonly but I like to hear of up and coming players and support of the game at a regional level.

I know for my friends at Leicester City our encounter seems like the most unlikely of events but none-the-less it will be a hearty match against the Foxes. The subject of this post is to commend Nigel Pearson for bringing in nineteen year-old Jack Hobbs from Liverpool on-loan. I’m a trifle surprised to find this out but more surprised not to see more news of England U19 Defender heading to Leicester City. However that aside, Leicester fan’s and all of us in League One will have a great treat this season in watching this splendid young player each week.

For those that do read this, it really is time to start supporting the game at its core.

Thanks from a Leicester fan for mentioning this. I was surprised as well about the lack of attention the signing has received and, like you, am looking forward to seeing this young man turn out for the Foxes.

Lisa - first of all, thank you for joining me. I know this isn’t a Leicester blog but I can assure you I’ll have a thing or two to say of them and all of League One during the campaign. They’re a great club with a tremendous history so hopefully we’ll both win promotion this season.

Either way young Mr. Hobbs is a great talent. He’ll do a superb job for Leicester and in-time, England. I’m personally offended that his move wasn’t prominent in the press but the media seems to have forgotten what this game is all about at times. I support the young players and if it means posting matters a bit off course so be it.

Hope to hear from you in the future -

It’s a photo of Rafa giving direction. If I could have found a photo of Rafa and Jack that would have been wonderful but there were none. However nice to have you visit and accuse me of something when I’m saying something positive of a young player and a need to support the sport at the core.
