Pre-season training began today with two tough training sessions at the Thorp Arch practice grounds. Comments post practice by the squad were very upbeat with players noting it was good to be back but they are very focused upon the drive towards promotion and have put last seasons finale at Wembley behind them.

what’s the leeds united view on harry kewell? long time ago i know, but he was never the player he was at elland road. bit of rankle too about him moving to galatasary after the trouble there in 2000.

Certainly some of the fan-base has expressed extreme displeasure at Harry Kewell, which I think he didn’t consider and then intelligently responded with an open-letter. However as I commented in the post of it, I think it is representative of players not understanding the personal relationship fans have with clubs. From a different vantage of Leeds, I think his decision was ill-timed as he now has ruled himself of playing for Australia. I can’t tell you how foolish that will seem in years to come and just wish some of these players would get competent advice.
